I'm going to interview Steve Shadders about the Genesis upgrade. Please let me know what questions you'd like me to ask.

Twetch ·

in regards to sunsetting P2SH, what is a reasonable timeframe / expectation of security that i might expect from an existing paper wallet which was created prior to the genesis upgrade and intended for long term control/storage?
> 1 yr ?
> 2 yr?
> 5 yr?

Are there any op codes that will be turned on?

Twetch ·

is the Speed Limit error on moneybutton going to get resolved?

Twetch ·

What are you doing with the sighash algorithm?

Twetch ·

What are you doing with the "too long mempool" error?

Twetch ·

At which point will the DAA be reverted, if at all?

Twetch ·

from a developer level: nothing
from the user level: i just want to put my bitcoin somewhere safe for a real long time.

i used to use paper wallets for that. but in sunsetting p2sh i then do not know what best practices will look like after the upgrade.

Twetch ·

How are fees going to be determined?

Twetch ·

I normally take the sig and empty it on a big smoking paper.. Add the hash, roll it and than light it up.

Twetch ·

Will it be the last major protocol upgrade? Will it be "set in stone" after this? How to ensure it remains "set in stone"?

Twetch ·

Ask him if Epstein killed himself. I feel that is very relevant.

Twetch ·

@132 the speed limit is not specific to MB and i dont think it is being resolved with the Genesis upgrade. You can split your UTXOs tho and bypass the speed limit to do it easily rn you can pay MB to do it for you

Twetch ·

It will at least get a chuckle.

Twetch ·

What is the latest new thing you've learned about Bitcoin or what it can do that blew your mind?

Twetch ·

What kind of hair care products does he use to achieve that silky, glossy look?

Twetch ·

What will be the maximum OP_RETURN size after the upgrade?

Twetch ·

Not necessarily about genesis, but are there plans for miners having standardized announcing channel for fees and other tx related options.

Twetch ·

What kind of limits, if any, will stay in place after genesis, which could not be overridden by miners.

Twetch ·

this is a good one – also, what does "set in stone" even mean?

Twetch ·

What is your vision for the future of the node software based on microservices or some other partitioning of the software into specialized functionality?

Twetch ·

how many op_return outputs (currently s1 -s5) will there be more after genesis? op_return size will it also increase.
any new transaction types?
ie. multi processor transaction?

what are you glad to see going away forever?
whats new not mention yet?

Twetch ·

To what extend are transactions being validated in parallel in the new code?

Twetch ·

If the block size is unbound and a massive amount of hashing came on for 2 weeks then fell off, post adjustment - most txs should still make it into the next block - even if it takes weeks to find the next block.

So why not restore the original DAA?

Twetch ·

what will be the length of unconfirmed chains of transactions ? I think core limited it to 25 tx a few years ago and there was talk of removing this limit on bsv

Twetch ·

@194 from my understanding the length will be configurable by the node operator

Twetch ·

Pls ask Steve why "they" will erase the (BSV) Phoenix after exactly 11 years, 1 day and 1 month and if he believes in the illuminati (controlling world's most important events)..😉

Twetch ·

There is any plan to create docs around the BSV node and protocol?

Right now where I need documentation I usually read old BTC docs or read directly the source code. It'll be nice and super handy have good documentation about the BSV protocol.

Twetch ·

Which are the key improvements in the node to be able to handle really large blocks? There is any original technology/development that you can mention?

Twetch ·

What changes in the genesis upgrade will help ensure the permanency of data stored to the blockchain and potentially prevent the pruning of op_return data?

Twetch ·

erase=> rise
