Good HW wallets are continually improving and have safety measures in place.
While Simply Cash with an old phone works it’s nothing like a coldcard. For example.

I don’t know what a cold card is but I can’t imagine needing anything more than simply cash on an old phone. You can see your balance on your regular phone and withdrawals and deposits work seamlessly and couldn’t be more secure. HW wallets compromise easy
