When I look at the "Latest" feed, I rarely see posts I'd be interested in seeing on my "Following" feed.
The thing is, not everyone understands what is valuable content.
But they'll learn in time. And the sooner they do, the better off they'll be.

I think it takes some concious effort to develop and maintain a following list, which will let you focus on valuable content.
You might consider having to remove popular but noisy star twetchers from ones list. 😭

It is quite possible for someone to lose touch with what made their content valuable to you, or even for your values to change such that they no longer seem valuable to you.
