We literally live on a Pirate Planet. Just look back in time.
Always been that way, thing always work out fine largely enough.
1840s: Britain literally went to war and shot up the Chinese coast for the drug dealers, to force the Chinese Emperor to allow them to continue selling opium to the masses. Hence Hong Kong's origin.
Nothing is really any different today, just a varied facade of the same old.
And all the while plenty of people lived just fine, adventured, had families, etc etc, regardless of the pirate planet actions. It only matters to people personally if they focus on it, for the vast majority of the time, and we need not focus on it.
