Litecoin was supposed to be the "silver" of Bitcoin's "gold". Designed to be ASIC-resistant, more difficult to mine... not sure the resistance to asics.

Yep. I’ve been mining LTC with my L3+ scrypt miners since 2017.
do you think asic-resistance was good for Litecoin (or Ethereum?)?
Well, perhaps but obviously someone decided to allow ASICS for both. Too much centralization. I’ve been GPU mining ETH since 2016, I wish I had held all that I mined. So many forks and “classics” now. Just learning about SV, I like what I’ve been reading.
ASIC resistance may seem an optimal strategy to prevent specialized hardware design from gaining a disproportionate advantage over small actors, it is impossible to create an algorithm that runs at the same speed on general-purpose and dedicated hardware
ASIC resistance is a very dumb attempt for the solution to the byzantines general problem.
