One explenation I remember for getting rid of them was that the 'journalists' couldn't bare the 'hatred' anymore.

The remaining comment sections are largely under control now.
Yeah IMO they dont want people calling out the bullshit just one scroll below the article. They know most people will not dig to find alternative views. I like to see what regular people think as opposed to the owned so called journalists.
