Thanks this is a tough question. Gold and Bitcoin are both proto-monies and have value from their potential future use as money. Gold is less useful in that regard as Bitcoin overall. However, gold will still work even if society collapses, unlike Bitcoin.

Gold also has uses other than as money. Not just industrial but as a way of showing off wealth, due to its inherent scarcity.
