You would need to contact the top nodes/mining facilities and inquire about what capabilities they can handle.

Nodes and/or mining facilities will ultimately become enterprise level data centers providing access to data on the global blockchain.

I'm not sure you can speak with certainty on current capabilities unless you have information from those facilities. If by chance you have that info, would you mind sharing it?

So if nodes and miners centralize to large data centres, why bother putting stuff on chain at all? It's not immutable if it's centralized. Those entities could agree to fork and prune the chain to decrease their bottom line, right?

YouTube is not free. The cost is much greater than money.

The term decentralization is very subjective. Data on the blockchain is immutable, unless the chain dies because miners abandoned the network. What's the incentive for forking? You decrease the bottom line by being efficient, not by cheating the network.

This is a good question @nsf and Derrick Moore would be someone who would be able to answer your question probably a bit better as he has been experimenting quite a bit with large video file uploads as well as miner fee negotiations.
