@134 You strike me as someone who's never raised or interacted with foodstuff animals.
I can tell you it is not difficult to kill and eat a cannibal rooster or a rabbit destroying months of work on the precious kale patch vegans so adore.
nah that's what meth does.. it doesn't take many brain cells to know not to eat animals though
I'd implore you to visit a local farm and see the pile of deer corpses accrued throughout the growing season to get you those scrumptious vegetables.
The only shame and dishonor to these animals is that we don't consume them in our struggle for survival.
@1850 I'm not denying that animals are killed. I do think I am causing a lot less harm by choosing to be vegan though
@134 W/o animal byproduct there is no healthy soil. The Great Planes were built on bison corpses, feces, and pounding hooves.
If you want a better life for animals, start with the farmers and State subsidies, not diets. Try growing vegan food w/o animals.
@1850 wouldn't their byproduct still be there if we didn't farm animals? I agree state subsidies are a big problem but it is also supply and demand. Consumers should be educated on the immorality of supporting animal products.
I wonder sometimes what it would be like if you could only get meat by hunting. Would people still eat meat?
@1666 Thoreau said something similar - I'm paraphrasing, but the crux of his point was that if you can kill and eat an animal without remorse, then you're allowed to eat meat.
If it makes you feel bad, don't eat meat.
@134 Byproduct still exists, utilizing it is hard. Using fertile forest soil means cutting the forest down. Sustainable food forests are low-output. The 1800s guano industry demonstrates the severe constraints of this model. This is why we raise animals.
I think it's immoral to deny human nature. Our bodies process meat much better than vegetables.

@1850 i don’t understand your point. A person eating a vegan diet also only requires about 1/15 of the farm land compared to someone eating a standard western diet.
@1264 You are wrong. The longest living populations are vegan
Why would you eat a cat?
Someone get this guy a Steak he's gonna starve to death.
