I might tag along with you and give this a try. My handwriting is atrocious, and proper cursive is so elegant. I have secretly envied people with excellent cursive penmanship for a very long time.
Once you master cursive, you could always move onto calligraphy. Here's a list of "old but gold" resources (I worked through the Ames' Guide to Self-Instruction, but with a brush pen instead of proper calligraphy pen.): https://www.iampeth.com/rare-books
