I think it's clear that Jimmy has very good domain knowledge about Wikipedia related issues. For that, I respect him and am willing to listen to him.
I believe he does not understand Bitcoin in any significant depth, and more importantly, he appears to be rejecting an entire category of ideas revolving around using Bitcoin entirely due to the most naive versions of incentive system implementation.
Generally speaking, naive implementations are never adequate to solve the problems at hand.
Knowing this, the default must be to keep an open mind that a more complete concept may actually solve the problems at hand, not to dismiss the entire domain.
I accept and agree with an approach does not involve him digging into these issues himself.
In fact, I believe he is in a position where he's best suited to waiting for us to bring a solution to him rather than him finding and designing it himself.
My entire annoyance with him (and it doesn't extend beyond mere annoyance,) is that he is not merely dismissing these ideas, but actively opposing them, at least in his statements.
He has no basis for such opposition.
That proposed solutions do not actually solve the problem so far does not imply that there is no solution to the problem, or that the solution does not come from an area you have already been exposed to on a surface level.
All further thoughts I have about the discussion are either agreement with the points made, or are ultimately predicated on the above understandings.
It all comes down to not rejecting things just because you don't see the solution (yet).
