Is animal cruelty wrong?

Cruelty is inflicting unnecessary pain or suffering
Yes, cruelty of any kind is immoral and evil.
The truth is that we really do need easily accessible macro and micro nutrients in the food of animal protein. We can do without, but it's very difficult.
It's a choice between: My life or their life. Limit suffering, seek alternative sources/products.
Do we need animal products to live?
All the nutrients you need can be found in plants and is very easy to attain. Protein deficiency is nonexistent in a diet sufficient in calories
There is a good bit of evidence that suggests we would not have evolved the way we did without meat
We have evolved into killing innocent beings and destroying our environment because of our cultural consensus and taste preference.
As far as quality of life and longevity there is a lot of evidence that plant based diets are the way to go.
But don't other animals kill other animals for food?
Ya but our bodies have a lot more in common with herbivores and frugivorous than carnivores. Most people are repulsed by dead animals and have to cook and season the flesh to enjoy the taste.
Is the current rate of deforestation to grow crops to feed livestock instead of taking those crops to feed more humans sustainable? Is the pollution of the oceans mainly caused by fishing nets sustainable?
>destroying our environment
We are not destroying our environment. We have terraformed the planet and now can sustain 7B+ people
Darwin said that "organism" and "environment" alone 2-sides of the "organism-environment" complement. Cannot be separated
"Deforestation"
That is land owned by someone else. Are you willing to demolish your house and plant trees?
Or instead are you merely condemning other people for doing what they wish their property while not taking your own suggestion?
Supply and demand. I am taking away their incentive
"Deforestation" leads to more forests and plant life due to demand economics.
I agree that animal suffering is a terrible thing. I also want a plant-based or something else that minimize suffering.
