When you interpret Satan as the body, Lucifer as the mind, and Christ as the soul, you are less perplexed by the fact that Lucifer and Christ have some shocking things in common. So much so, that some claim they are one and the same entity. The mind masquerades as the soul. Lucifer masquarades as Christ. The mind must create endless narratives to make the case that evil is good (serves a "greater good") because if it doesn't, the soul awakens. The spells of the mind that make us believe that our evil is actually good are the lullabies that keep the soul asleep.

The mind, like Lucifer, takes the path of pretending to be a god. The soul, like Christ, on the other hand, is the path towards God.
