Interesting idea for likes. The more tips a Twetch gets, the more prominent the background color becomes.
For example, it could slowly turn increasing shades of yellow, gold, green, red, blue, etc.
When you scan your feed the valuable content pops out.

Cool. The “top” Twetch feed would take the form of a descending gradient
Each color might be an order of magnitude. 0-9 shades of gray, 10-99 shades of yellow, 100-999 shades of gold, etc.
To curate your feed just select which colors to show.
Similarly you could tip in any color, so you tip gray for 10 cents, yellow for a dollar, gold for 10 dollars, etc.
I've seen MoneyButton have custom amounts, so that would probably work equally well. In this case the higher tip would get counted into the increased visibility of the Twetch.
I think in general it’s a great idea for organization of data on the web. The concept of headers and links etc. and data being segregated spatially and within text seems limiting when our brains process gradients of colour so intuitively.
