Dude doesn't know the difference between record and latest known state..

Last known state can change.
Records cannot.
Last known states build records on previous records..
Because they are RECORDS!

Thank you for clarifying. Did you know that Wikipedia has something called "selective deletion"? This feature allows administrators to delete certain records pertaining to article history.

Although Wikipedia suggests it "should be used very sparingly", you cannot deny that giving someone the ability to alter article history is a serious vulnerability, as they could decide to delete all versions of an article expressing something undesirable.

A more accurate analogy would be taking an encyclopedia, ripping out pages containing undesirable articles, and replacing them with pages rewritten in such a way that the average reader would never notice any changes. You could call it a memory hole.
