At 700 light years away, I feel as though a supernova would impact us on some level, but thankfully Betelgeuse is too far away to have a negative impact on our biosphere. 😅

There is some debate but I think a bright light as bright as the full Moon 🌕 would definitely effect people.

On a purely psychological level, I remember the supernova spotted when I was a kid. It was the kind of event that united people where I lived to be more loving.

That’s true! Plus, we don’t know enough about neutrinos yet to understand their total impact on us in such a large dose. Fascinating stuff & at the forefront of physics...
