I never liked the guy and always thought it was hilarious that people called him a genius. Racism of low expectations, I suppose. Also the success of his music always puzzled me. I really tried, but there's nothing IMHO. Mediocre at best.

But, slowly, I start to appreciate him for not giving a shit and being unintentionally hilarious.

And maybe that's the secret of his success. A lot of people are fascinated by those who confidently don't give a fuck.
That's often enough to make people think you are a genius.
