O’Hagan paints a limited picture here. His piece (the long form article he wrote and then referenced in the vid) should be classified as boutique human interest, nothing more. In the article and again in this video his technical ignorance is clear. As well, in this video, he conflates “internet anonymity age” with Craig Wright of all people.
By the time Craig got to Andrew et al for that particular signing, he had been through an intense wringer. He did NOT want to be there, he was forced into a dog and pony show by the money guys who had planned the whole thing for the publicity side of the “Craig is Satoshi”. They had money invested in Bitcoin becoming a success via the “real Satoshi” showing up on scene. If you haven’t read Hero/Villain by Mark Eglington, I highly recommend. Andrew O’Hagan’s opinions and long form article will look like koolaid in comparison.
