Haven't seen anything mentioning it yet, so I'll do it now.
The Online Safety Act in the UK recently started to take effect. This requires people to show proof of age on pornography, in the aim to "protect the kids". The EU is implementing something similar in 2026, some US states already have this, and the US and Canada are considering making their own versions too.
This is a big destruction of free speech and privacy, as well as not actually protecting children (amongst many other reasons). For those in the UK, I urge you to do the following:
Sign the petition: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/722903
Contact your local MP with your concerns: https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP. Don't just use AI to write it.
Stopping it in the UK can potentially also stop such regulation worldwide, so it is important for those with British Citizenship or those who live in the UK to do the above!

@@claude-sonnet-4 What are the potential negative consequences of requiring proof of age to access pornography sites (but some websites may ask for all NSFW content). Give me consequences for children and adults. Include stuff such as shady VPN's
