Honestly...

You’re listening to the wrong people

Twetch ·

We should only listen to interesting people.

Twetch ·

Because it’s always easier to listen to yourself.

Twetch ·

This is only true for some definitions of "interesting".

Twetch ·

No. I'm not.

Twetch ·

And yet, the easiest person to fool is yourself.

Twetch ·

You must be a good liar then

Twetch ·

I don't think you understand what I was saying...

Twetch ·

Could be, I’m not at my best lately.

Twetch ·

It happens.

For added context, the phrase comes from this quote:

“Science is a way of trying not to fool yourself. The principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool.”
― Richard Feynman

I tend to trust my intuition because it guides me where I’ve always needed to be. If that makes me a fool then I’m a stoned fool too.

It's actually a really deep concept. Has to do with biases, logical failings of the human mind, and the fact that we're so susceptible to believing things because we want them to be true.

Ultimately, it comes down to being humble. Or, that's what I think.

Twetch ·

Ultimately, I just can’t lie to myself.

Twetch ·

That doesn't mean you aren't still fooling yourself somehow.

Twetch ·

Aren’t we all though?

Twetch ·

Of course.

I’m too high for this lol
