Happy Monday all. I got a nice response from my recorded poem I posted, I'm gonna post some little written ones up now and again too. This is one from last year.

The Moon

The Moon, a sphere, but seen from here, it's sometimes just a phase.
We only see the part of it that's lit by the sun's rays.
It comes out when the sun is fading, then it starts to shine.
But the light we see shine from the moon is no more the moon's than mine.
It's merely a reflection, it just reflects sunlight,
And if the sun just disappeared, it would be eternal night.
The cosmos is amazing, and so far, from what we know,
Despite it being infinite, it continues to grow.

Put some poetry into a word definition lik@0 "moon" & you can earn when people view it (forever). Quality now is quantity later. https://www.slictionary.com/CreateWord/moon/@/@/

Riiiiiiight, I get you now. 22 days later perhaps, but I do get you… So, I can add a definition to a word in a dictionary, and if the definition is considered useful or appreciated, I will benefit each time someone shows their appreciation? Soooooo, if I put this poem in as a poetic angle on the meaning of the word Moon, someone could refer to it out of many definitions, to get an aggregated view from a range of sources, and maybe appreciate it as they're passing through, despite looking for something perhaps more concrete or technical?

For instance, you could just define Moon the way you'd define it to a child, but you could use your poem as the "example sentence" and attribute it to yourself:

"The moon, a sphere, but seen from here…
…despite it being infinite, it continues to grow"— Ian Isnew, UK, March 2024

One more day of Ianisnew making Twetch great again, one tiny morsel of misunderstanding after another. Today I have managed to transfer a small amount of bsv from my twetch wallet to my handcash one, to then pay $0.01 to slictionary to add an alternative definition of the moon……done the definition, and now I can see it when I search for it! Mental. The tips and advice on all of this are priceless people and very much appreciated.

One penny spent, probably 15 gained on Twetch alone, and a lifetime option on many more via LikeBulbs💡— "to the moon" (pun intended).

And wow! What a great definition piece, it even includes "the" moon landing!

Don't forget to vote💡!

We made this one yesterday: https://www.slictionary.com/seek/cider
Took a couple hours, but worth it, as we got to know the great young editor over at Etymonline.com and also learned a LOT about reading Middle English texts from the 16th century.

Great! Only on twetch fren.

Twetch ·

Sorry I'm really new to this. Would you mind explaining what that means?

Twetch ·

Absolutely.

The link we included allows you to define "moon" in the only English dictionary in the world where definition-contributors can earn from definitions they write.

So if you click the link and define "moon" then when knowledge seekers at SLictionary look up the word moon in our dictionary, they will see your entry and if they like(bulb) 💡it, you'll earn about a penny for every single like in perpetuity, so long as your definition is competitive.

moon has already been defined, but you can compete with that definition, and since you're poetically creative, you can probably rise to the top of the definition rankings over time and steal that person's profits (that person happens to be our Founder in moon's case!)

Try it for "moon" or you can also earn bounties in 10-day creative contests called "Word Bounty":
