what happened w/ elon was that we started giving out free money,,,, he didn't suddenly become an incredible "genius" at the same time we started giving out free money & that's why he has a bunch of money,,, it's b/c of the free money,,, the idea of trying to present evidence in support of this theory feels tiresome, to me it's beyond obvious :/

um elon musk supposedly being awesome was the only thesis left for how to get some gainz, so people started saying he's awesome,,, he's a reasonably competent person, it's not that it's entirely illusion & he's incapable of reading up on rockets,, he did in fact learn some shit about rockets, not that he's an engineer who works on rockets though to be clear, he's a showman & a pretext for pamping stonks
even if there were a dude who were magically able to learn how to be a rocket engineer in a few years w/o trying that hard-- not that that's what happened, that is not at all what fucking happened-- but even if there were such a dude it would mean almost nothing about the economic sustainability of a rocket company w/ zillions of engineers that mostly lives on government contracts,,,,,,,,, it's part of a show, not part of how rockets get made
other companies also made rockets & didn't bother to say that shit about their CEOs, it's thoroughly optional
idk what to say that could snap you out of it,,, to me it's not like a factual thing, there's no facts inside that idea, the idea is just that elon musk is "genius" which isn't an actual thing,,, it's a fantasy story we tell ourselves repeatedly about what humanity would like being human to feel like
dont care too much about semantics... for me "genius" is a useful shorthand (especially when conveying [[memes]]) and in my mind does not inherently contain a moral judgement. i think the point is he has elite competence in rocketry according to the quoted credentialed experts
uh no they just said he bothered to read some shit about rockets, he's still not a basically competent engineer in anything about rocketry, he's certainly not elite, they're just putting an (apparently INCREDIBLY effective) spin on the fact that he bothered to read some shit about rockets when he took over a rocket company
