sorta?? i think the following thing doesn't work at all,, people hate being on twitter,, but also they're looking to recreate the habitual experience that they hate!!?? humans

yea... im torn on it. but several people have asked so its rising quickly in my priority list

one way i've thought would make sense is if you could follow person+tag, so you don't have to follow all of a person's existence, if there's some particular reason you follow someone you could follow that tag of theirs,,, if you follow me b/c of Send More Dogs, then you could follow mungojelly+SendMoreDogs, & just get that, & then it doesn't break that stream if i also post about something else [[knovigator feature request]]

yea that would be cool. i think the crux is you what you said, there needs to be some way to curate your knov experience. doesn't necessarily have to be a twitter style following model, but definitely need a way to choose what parts of knov you see, especially as it gets more users

one idea we'd been tossing around was to have custom streams that you could use kind of like twitter lists. so "following" someone would just add them into your following stream and when you selected that stream you'd only see posts from people you follow. ideally that'd be totally customizable so you could do like you were suggesting and make a stream that just showed certain memes or certain people's posts (or combinations of the two)

the way i'd think of doing it would be to have streams be composable, so you can put two streams together & it results in a stream, or take a stream & filter it to get another stream, take that filtered stream & combine it w/ the stream w/ two things in it & you get a stream of three things but one of them is filtered first, & then you can keep layering & combining things
