Growing up near a large city, I was always fascinated by all the farmhouses and small towns you see driving through the country (US), and how patriotic these people/places seemed, with an American flag in front of (nearly) every home...

...government, in terms of welfare, day to day protections and services, education, values, etc.

They just seem grateful to live in a country where this is even possible, and I think they are even making the country better for it.

...keep a federal government small by revolt (regret), you keep it small by denying "free" offers/handouts, so to speak. Without these people, I believe the US would be a much more "Socialist" country by now. Thank God for these Americans.
