The greatest mistake the commies ever made was abandoning the working class in favor of grievance groups. This terrible mistake is very hard to understand, especially since "the left" essentially stopped being "the left" when they kicked the workers off the bus. There are of course many factors at play, but two very important ones are that the workers stubbornly refused to fulfill the prophecy of the collectivist cult, and, maybe most importantly, the fact that the Party simply despises the working class. It flirted with it only as long as it thought it was useful for it's power-grab. It has since found a new romantic love interest which is in many ways the opposite of the working class: big business, big tech, big pharma and the already mentioned grievance groups, which are largely there to distract from its marriage with the powerful and keep a semblance of "revolution" and "fight for the oppressed". The workers, meanwhile, will most likely end up in the hands of right wing collectivists, which could turn out even worse than being manipulated and used by commies.
