such a great question. Reminds me of a favorite text of mine, the Tao te Ching. I think in the practice of will or willfulness (which is important because will in my view has been suppressed) we eventually get to a more “go with the flow” state.

I liked listening to Wayne Dier's version of it on YouTube, lot of wisdom there.
I think we can put in effort, take the action etc but I think there's a difference between willing with intent and force.
When we force things faster than they're ready to happen, things often break.
