There is a paper from 2002 which was mentioned by CSW on 2007 in a thread while suggesting the paper to someone. All about digital sig. and time stamping. Intrestingly, the paper has 2 same (exact way of writing) citations as the Bitcoin Whitepaper.
Not tellin it is some sort of proof but it surely says that the guy knew all these stuffs pre Bitcoin. He was a IEEE member and there is a thread on Probability theory, all on the same forum back in 2007. All references from the Whitepaper are thus covered
