Great advice. Truthfully, I think women have to learn this adaptation early (whether they admit it or not) simply by virtue of the massive hormonal shifts that take place each month in our cycles. When I feel filled with a sudden sense of doom/self-doubt and/or anxiety, I check in with my calendar, and (nearly always) it is my hormones messing with my state of mind. It means that even though the feelings are very real, the level of amplification often is not. This knowledge helps me smooth the bumps of life. Knowing in advance that I'm going to be up and down emotionally throughout the month, means I can separate it from the underlying 'me' that persists throughout.
