If your government bans all "crypto". Are you going to stop using BSV? Or are you going to break the law?

BSV Isn’t crypto

Twetch ·

The government may classify it as such. What do you do then, stop spending (and twetching)?

Twetch ·

Good question. I suppose I would legally fight to use it or move to a less tyrannical geographic location.

Twetch ·

You can't legally fight the government on many, many places on Earth. Even less so, when the nation is in economic trouble.

What if you are not allowed to leave with much wealth? Are you obeying law?

Twetch ·

I just banned government

Twetch ·

I'm still negotiating with mine

Twetch ·

Joke all you want, Bitcoin is mainly about breaking the law. The monopolist doesn't like competition. It imprisoned people historically for speaking ill of its money. It executed people for asking in which money a trade should settle.

Twetch ·

I disagree Bitcoin is mainly about breaking the Law. Bitcoin is a tool about all else I believe. Bitcoin is a tool the honest society can use to end the corrupt. It’s a tool.

Twetch ·

And I am telling you this tool is likely getting banned if becoming large, if history is any guide. I hope people resist the law then, it's their Bitcoins, not the looters. But they must expect to break the law to keep what's theirs.

Twetch ·

For sure. If the global communist takeover is successful than we are all fucked for sure. Nothing of good or reason can exist in those circumstances.

In a world with western common law I believe genuine Bitcoin can flourish.

Twetch ·

Let's hope so. But even common law societies sporadically devolved into tyranny (18th c New England), banning the use of specie for worthless paper. They had brutal "committees of safety" decades before those of the same name in Revolutionary France.

Twetch ·

Yes. The successful populist revolt will have to study true history in earnest as to fend off repetition.

Twetch ·

First of all the world is different now. Second the government cannot make what is lawfully abiding illegal. We appeal unjust laws through equal branches of government. Tyranny can be legally met with force. Dont give up because of a battle you see ahead.

Twetch ·

All of the above might be somewhat true for America, not elsewhere. And I'm never giving up, moving away from looters is rather effective, but not a silver bullet sadly.

Twetch ·

Here is a list of countries (as of 2020) that prohibit use of bitcoin.
I hope Ryan is doing god's work banning users from these countries.

You can add Nigeria to the list as well as of last week.

Twetch ·

I hope you are sarcastic.

Twetch ·

I am. But lets see how far they can meme "Welcome to lawr"

Twetch ·

Syntax error if the jurisdiction they operate under later demand they cease activities.
