The dude is holding the newspapers... It’s a difficult problem to solve. Shoe is 5, man is 5 but holding newspapers which is 4 so I multiplied as its in parentheses. 1/2(10)+(5*4)x1/2(4)= 45

Final line is 5+(5+4+10) x2 =43. =)
