This is a great verse but it is fro. A modern version so it has been slightly corrupted. The bible is ear that God has many sons but Jesus is the only begotten Son. Meaning he is of the same nature as God, where the rest of the sons today are adopted.

Bible Hub has has many different versions to compare. https://biblehub.com/john/3-16.htm
I prefer to read both NIV and KJV. In its entirety, both arrive at the same truth: Jesus is God, came in the flesh to die for our sins, rose on the third day, and will return.
I lean toward KJV in including verses such Acts 8:37, which irenaeus quoted.
Only the KJV includes the word STUDY and the command to study the word of Truth. 2 tim2:15
I was raised atheist, did not come to the faith going to church or the Bible. It was through revelation similar to Paul. On that day, the womam God sent to be with me read John to me from her NIV Bible.
If God used NIV to speak his Word to me, so will I.
People can be saved from any bible, they don't even need a bible at all; just a simple gospel tract will do but the bible has much more than just the knowlege of how to be saved. The proper keys for interpretation and other doctrines have been changed.
And hence I read both. I have no problems with the scriptural claims around textus receptus, but the refusal to update it to modern english (NKJV is not it), seems to me that the old english itself has become an idol.
That's like the Jews saying they need to update the old testament into modern Hebrew. It is the written revelation of God- every word is setteld in heaven. TheeKJV is the foundation of modern English and much richer with more details.
Check Mathew 6:13- not the same in modern versions. You decide if every word maters.
It's possible the ending to the prayer came from an oral traditon practiced by early Christians, then added to the text by a scribe.
I already read the KJV, don't need to convince me. And as Forest Gump said, that's all I have to say about that.
The written revelation of God was written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, not old English, that was not settled in heaven.
"if therefore thine eye be single" Eye be single? The NIV and its footnote gives more context which ties with the preceding verses.
Did God preserve his word and do we have the word of God in the modern Universal language of learning? If yes then which version, because they are not the same and all modern versions remove verses.
NIV. It includes contested verses like John 1-11, Acts 8:37, 1 John 5:7, in either italics or footnotes, so the reader has access to them and can research them.
God sent three teachers in my journey to Christ. They all taught me with NIV. I trust God.
