To use hodlocker to replace the information sharing sites we're accustomed to, we'll have to become more sophisticated, more precise, with our signaling patterns.
For example, as we use hodlocker more, posts in the "trending" tab will start to fly by, rearranging themselves faster and faster. This is a good thing, because accelerating trend speed will increase the signalling value of the "top" tab, making top posts move more quickly as well.
Before the user base increases massively, we can encourage this process (aka DOPAMINE) by simply locking .001 BSV to any "latest" post, or any reply, that is somewhat interesting.
.001 might feel cheap, but, by sending a post to the top of the trending tab, it is a valuable temporary signal that separates the wheat from the chaff (hey, check this out!).
This is just my two cents in response to
1) the dopamine goals of @mandeep
2) the difference @jack draws between winning in the old world versus accelerating the new
3) the information sharing value of hodlocker as identified by anoncoiner

Maybe reducing the default lock amount to 0.001 instead of 0.01 will encourage more little locks to get the ball rolling on the information curation process. 0 to first lock is the most important step. Wonder what others think.
Good thinking. I wonder the same. Also if you lock less than 0.01 to a comment the value does not show up on the main post as it only shows the first two decimals.
Thanks for this post. I'm gonna start doing smaller locks for a longer time on ideas that seem important i.e. 0.001 for 4000 blocks so it's non-zero for longer. Keeping good ideas in circulation to the network = bitcoin go up.
