get a glass
put some ice in it
fill it up with water and observe
the ice melting does not increase the water level
now go fuck yourself if you still think people need to get taxed more to ‘save the ice caps’
thanks

H2O is responsible for more global warming than CO2, why can't we tax H2O emissions too? Then I'll be able to buy two beachside mansions.

wow abrasively put, couldn’t have said it better 🙌

The argument that the ice mass is above water so when melting the water mass increases. But yes, I am with you here. There’s not enough ice to cause a REAL issue.
Twetch ·
In that case, nature is taking away landmass on one hand, while exposing new land on the other.
Twetch ·
um i don't think the ice caps are floating like the case of cubes in water. pretty sure melting ice caps would raise sea level. but I don't wanna go there with you cause I agree with your sentiment

You don’t think? You shouldn’t think, you should know. I know a lot of it is and if it isn’t: https://twetch.app/t/0ecbd0b72be96d12a94f4c7e10c4720094d7f1e73e18b6bd308660f3bfea633b
Twetch ·
Which new land are you referring to?
Twetch ·
If snow melts off a mountain, ending up in the see and raising the water level, that mountain now has newly exposed useable land.
Twetch ·
Sure, but, the artics are just ice and not land (allegedly)
Twetch ·
After reading your reply, I am now not actually sure what you are talking about. Either I am not smart enough or i am missing the context that spurred your first twetch.
Twetch ·
I think the south pole is land underneath. lots of elevation too. anyway i don't understand the point of this convo so imma head out
Twetch ·
Hahahahaha

I argued w/one recently who tried to make the point you just made while arguing in defense of a video which showed virtually nothing but sea ice freeze-melt cycle as evidence of rising sea levels.
They think they science, but they actually religion.
