Freezing of coins doesn’t really bother me much because if this isn’t possible you will see Govs (mafia) just outright ban Bitcoin and Crypto.
Reassigning coins is a harder pill to swallow. I do not like it because I do not trust any legal system anywhere in the world.
Presidents are selected, and bureaucrats run the whole show. Bureaucrats who are bought and paid for and essentially work for a mafia. This includes the judiciary systems in all countries.
But I understand why reassignment is needed. I must be able to retrieve my private property if it is stolen or if I lose my private keys. The risk is that the mafia will abuse this, and imo they will. That is a guarantee.

If reassignment is clearly being abused, maybe the network can fork and revert the corrupt changes. These new rules could be the vehicle to get billions of people using it, and then when the inevitable(?) corruption happens, the infrastructure and users will have been established and easily able to move to a new fork. The whole thing is messy, but I agree law is needed as it grows or it will definitely be shut down.
