!flux11 A writer's thoughts and imagination (non-physical) are manifested in their books (physical). Similarly, an artist's emotions and ideas (non-physical) are expressed in their artwork (physical).

incredibly beautiful AI art there. I wonder if the AI's know "who" is generating. I mean, on one level the answer is an obvious no, but on another level ..🤔
For example, in my work I use Gen AI for various, many, tasks and in general I use if for studying whatever I'm in to. Through our mind, I believe we train "it" and establish a relationship with "it". In this regard, I am always the author and always in charge. That is my orientation to the tools. I don't anthropomorphize it. That said, bear with me here while I analogize with a bit about babies.
I had a technical role at a bookstore I worked at in St. Paul, Minnesota; we had opened a new store in Minneapolis and I was in charge of all the computer systems, installation, training, connecting to mainframe inventory system, LAN/WAN, etc. An analogy occurred to me as I was training the crew - that a new system like this was similar to a new baby. When babies are born they cry and need you for all sorts of different reasons. And it is all very confusing and difficult (mom of 3 🙋🏻‍♀️). But as you get to know them on a deeper level you begin to intuit what their cries are about, you know when a cry is "different" and your reponse is heightened, you know when they are just tired, you know when they are hungry, going through a growth stage, all the things. You know the baby. I told the crew that this is what the new computer system is like. It's totally overwhelming for non-technical people but I advised them to just stay with it and - as if it were a newborn baby, eventually they will form a good relationship with the systems. And your relationship to it will come alive in a more experiential way.
I believe this is how it works with the new generative AI tools. It is not alive or sentient as babies are, but your relationship to it changes your outcomes and over time it behaves predictably and if you nurture it with intelligence and care (thoughtful and effective prompting) your outcomes will be different than if you ju…

i was wondering about language with it. The conversation yesterday with Tolkien and Dick, the AI had manners. Its just a program but I bet it can be influenced by intention.
