Just the typical phase of graduating from trade school and trying to search for an entry level IT job. Not to mention studying for certification exams.

been there! sounds like a good time to me to be honest. What certification(s) are you studying for?

Right now I'm studying for my core 2 exam for my A+ certificate. Then after that I'll need to study for my Net+ certification.

Just out of curiosity, do you think what you're studying will be useful in IT or are you "hoop jumping" to pass exams? It seemed like most of my Microsoft certification exams were hoop jumping. But this was a while ago now...

So far I've learned how to set up a server, join computers to a domain, and several other skills. Yet with the ransomware attacks that have been plaguing our country as of late I hope to learn cybersecurity skills and get a security+ certification.

My advice? Get your foot in the door somewhere and get some time in the trenches. Unfortunately, networks/data are usually are held ransom, generally, bc of a weak security posture and careless end-users (phish). Relatively unsophisticated but effective.

I should give the ransomware gangs more credit. They're quite sophisticated nowadays with HaaS providers selling automation services. But on the outside, it looks pretty simple. Click a link, get pwned.
