First they annulled the election when Georgescu won the first round, now they banned him from participating in the re-run.

Why would the West, or at this point, I should probably say NATO, make such open moves against democracy in various Eastern European countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Slovakia, Romania)?

I think at this point there is only one explanation: no matter how obvious the coups, color revolutions and manipulated elections, it's worth it if you expect all out war with Russia. It's better to turn countries now, no matter how bad it looks, than to have them on the other side of the frontline when things get real.
