Finally found time for Sofia to try it. She's playing it now over screen time which is a pretty big endorsement! She's just doing simple problems, mostly addition and some substraction

To be fair, I'm not much more advanced than Sofia! In testing I wasn't exactly covering myself in glory with my imaginative equations. 😉 I'm loving hearing that she's playing it by her own choice! That's the hope! Perhaps I should keep going with it. Once the Replit agent thinks it has finished the MVP you've no chance of getting more work out of it, so then I have to switch to using Claude or Chat-GPT, which makes it heavier going. I'd like to get the layout issues sorted for sure, and it'd be nice to get the numbers dropping down and, ideally flying away into the robot's mouth, though that might be a stretch.
My vote is keep going... imo you should fiddle with game mechanics... for example maybe you should try limit the options to a single operator at a time to practice it, bc as a player I just do the easiest thing... maybe the levels should be like addition -> subtraction -> multiplication -> division
Yes, great idea! Maybe each new level after the initial 5 could be each different operator alone?
I would just start with one operator at a time, I think this happens naturally anyway, once I start doing addition, I end up not doing any other ones... on track mind. maybe do multiple operators after going through them independently? so maybe like 2-3 levels of addition, 2-3 subtraction, etc... I would at least try it to see how it feels. That would also limit the 0 hack and any solutions just to the multiplication levels.
Again just my opinion, it could totally be wrong, only playing it will show.
