Film-Twetch, y’all seen Downsizing?
Was intrigued by the idea when I first saw the trailer, heard it was terrible and never bothered, and just watched it for myself now.
Thought it was solid. Based story actually. Probably why I heard “it was terrible.”

Downsizing was great. Really strange and underrated film. I loved the giant props.

1/2 I thought it was very interesting for all the philosophical concepts/questions it illustrated. The writing did feel forced at times, but there were lots of redeeming qualities.

2/2 . I think lots of people were disappointed because the preview seemed to sell a different kind of story. I think a lot of folks were expecting "Honey, I shrunk the kids!"

I agree. It could have been much more cinematic given all of the visual possibilities presented by the story. They downplayed that aspect. It was almost the TV movie version of the story.
