So, I did a bit of an experiment...
I stayed off Twetch for a while, and now I'm back.
Why did I do this?
Because I wanted to get a more fresh look at it.
What I've learned: Y'all aren't branching out with topics of discussion, and that's not good.

The problem is, no matter how many wonderful things are built for the platform, the value in spending time (and money) on Twetch isn't a slick interface, nor is it the features of the system.
It's in the people, and the information they post.

A high volume of a single topic is better than a low volume of a single topic, but a high volume of a single topic makes it harder for other topics to arise than if there's a low volume of that topic.
For Twetch to truly succeed, y'all must branch out.

Speaking of branching, when I see the same content repeatedly on my feed, that's an extreme case of what I'm talking about.
As a user, I want new information on my feed that interests me, and I have various interests that differ from those of other users.

So with that in mind, I'm thinking about ways I can contribute to developing other content types on this platform than just BSV and memes.
You should do the same, as an investment in your own Twetch earnings potential.

I don’t really understand all the crypto-market discussion. I barely know much about it and find it hard to follow the language. In fact, I’ve only ever owned bsv just to mess around with this app as an intro to it all.

Maybe science, history, and art. Although I do see these things on here and try to follow those people, I often find myself glazing over stock graphs or trying to understand bitcoin terminology (which can also be interesting)

For example, right now I love learning about bronze age history and pharmacology/psychedelic substances. However I would definitely follow generalized topics just for new interest discovery

I think it will come naturally as the platform grows. The problem is onboarding new people to twetch that are not really too interested in bsv, but a different platform or someone that hates the platform they are currently using

So Matt, This is my very first branch and I don't even know what I am doing. I appreciate what you are saying. I've been off Twetch for several months because I got bored with all the memes, most of which are derivative and unfunny IMHO.

What's the point of having an alternative to Twitter if all you get is mundane nonsense. I'm looking for a deeper interaction. I know it's here and there but...

"The twetch to twitter" feature sounds like a good way. I dont use twitter but im assuming the post has a link that says "this tweet was posted using twetch" with a link. But not sure but its a good way to onboard people that have your interest.

For sure. I'm a photomedia artist (amongst other things) and occasionally post images. I may do more work on that now.

I get exactly what you're talking about. I think it's essential for the Twetch folks to start properly encouraging the development of more diverse content creation on their platform.

The best crowd to bring onboard is a totally indifferent group, and to make it easy enough to self-filter to improve personal signal to noise.
It's not about earning money for most people, but improving quality of their feeds.

Because I still lack a pinned Twetch feature & have to retwetch myself to keep my preferred content at top of profile, I’m incentivized not to retwetch the ramblings of other people as it too much dilutes my own information.
