Have you ever wished you could go back to 1995 knowing what you know now about the internet? That's exactly how I feel about Bitcoin's original protocol today, and I can't help but get fired up about it.
In my latest video, I share a powerful post from CS Tommanaga that perfectly captures this parallel: "Nobody cared about the internet in the 1980s... it was like selling rain in a flood." Yet today, you can't buy coffee without the internet "whispering in the background." This is precisely what excites me about Bitcoin – not the price speculation or get-rich-quick schemes, but its potential to become the invisible backbone of global commerce.
I take viewers back to my high school days in the mid-90s, remembering AOL dial-up sounds and early experiences with Amazon and eBay. Back then, I never thought about investing in these platforms. Now, I see Bitcoin's original protocol offering a similar revolutionary potential – enabling truly peer-to-peer transactions without middlemen or borders.
What fires me up isn't watching crypto prices climb, but envisioning a world where people can freely transact without anyone "holding the leash." We're at a similar stage with Bitcoin as we were with the internet in the mid-90s – still early, but with tremendous potential most people can't yet see.

old enough to have lived through so many of these transitions, but young enough to take advantage of them... feel very fortunate to see it all and make some small contribution
!flux revolutions: computers -> internet -> mobile -> bitcoin -> ai
I also witnessed the dawn of the internet. "The Net," remember? That web that reached out to capture the world and was so scary.
That moment resembles the current fear many people have of AI.
I enjoyed the sound of the router. You'd turn it on and have time to make a cup of coffee until Windows started 🤣
