How do you establish the things you read as fact or fiction? What is the most important thing to you when evaluating a source of information? Who do you believe? Which medium best serves convergent truth?

I think a lot of the time we are bombarded with so much data (!=information) that we become fatigued. We often rely on authoritative markers to establish whether to scrutinize further. You know to push a door plate when there’s no handle. Patterns inform.

Pattern recognition is part of kindergarten curriculums. Adults need to evaluate information that is put before us. I've just started reading RXC's book recommendation "Trust Me, I'm Lying". After reading page 1, one can infer that BTC is a "racket".
Thanks for the rebuffing of that recommendation. I’m about to finish the audio course on Plato’s Republic, so that can be next.
