Enoch is mentioned in the Bible, but no Hebrew version of The Book of Enoch exists. So what people call The Book of Enoch probably is not the original if there were an original. If The Book of Enoch were real, it would date back many thousands of years, but most accounts put it at about 300BC, leading to the likelihood that it was written much later. I have not studied Enoch deeply, but it also seems to have some contradictions when it comes to the interpretation of Genesis, and the Enoch lore about giants and nephilim and fallen angels. There are often contradictions when reading these outside books as well as the apocrypha, compared to the 66 books of the Bible that have been handed down through generations. If we believe what the Bible says, then we can trust that God has preserved his word for us and that his words will never pass away:
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”Matthew 24:35
“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”Luke 21:33
“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”Mark13:31
I do think there are many false English translations out there today, as there have also been false gospels, written by hoaxers over the years. These include The Gospel of Thomas, and the Infancy Gospel of James, which are poorly written hoaxes, and have contradictions with God's true word. A more modern hoax would be the Mormon Bible, which was claimed to be revealed to John Smith by an angel. But the Bible warns us about these false gospels:
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” Galatians1:8
There have always been false prophets and false teachers throughout history, and we are to try the spirits whether they are of God:
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”1John4:1
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”2 Peter 2:1
God's true word is discerned through the Holy Spirit, and has been preserved in the original Greek and Hebrew, and proper translations do exist, for example the King James Bible in English.
