I already eat mostly steak. After watching some videos about the carnivore diet, I'm sold. I'm trying 100% meat for 1 month. Let's see what happens.

I will be very interested to hear the results of your experiment. I'm considering something like this.

I assume you will at the very least agree to the fact that it is the mark of an educated mind to be able entertain a thought without accepting it, as a certain infamous Greek philosopher said:

Did that for a few years when I was younger; I can tell you right now that you'll be experiencing short-term symptom relief at the expense of long-term health.

Don't hesitate to get in touch once you realize how bad it is for you, I'll be happy to help.

@385 Yay! You’ll probably do well on a carnivore diet! Also, if you haven’t heard of Robb Wolf, he has some really good ancestrial/keto/paleo insights. I’ve always enjoyed his takes: https://robbwolf.com/

I'm gna need a play by play on this one. Keep us updated Professor.

I went full keto for 8 weeks (<30g carbs / day) while lifting weights and running daily... that was too extreme... brain was foggy but I've never been so lean and muscular in my life. I have concluded that...

Twetch ·

Particularly if you're exercising (which you should).

Twetch ·

If you are naturally skinny with low insulin resistance then you can get into ketosis at a much less restrictive level of daily carbs... and avoid the brain fog. Only people who struggle with their weight and diabetics should go as low as I did imo...

Twetch ·

I am exercising, but only weight lifting. I think running is very different.

Don't realize is that the human body has evolved to always be in a state of preparedness for fight or fight... the liver --> gluconeogenesis with glycerol from TAGs and AAs and imo you have to try pretty hard to chronicly deplete glycogen to <50%

Twetch ·

Agree. And I think conventional wisdom of saying "oh no you will deplete all glycogen stores and lactic acid and ATP-PC system will be shot for lifting..." is being overturned. People even will tell you it's impossible to put on muscle mass... what they

Carnivore diet is LEGIT. FYI, carb withdrawals are HORRIBLE. When I began carnivore diet, my first 2-3 days were full of terrible migraines and even threw up a couple times. If you have these symptoms, just keep going :)

Keto extends life by 13.6% in adult mice:

Carn/Keto healed my horrible skin disease, plus improved my sleep and drastically improving my thinking/clarity/memory.

I eat mostly carnivore nowadays and my psoriasis is under control, I lose weight easy when I am strict for a week or so, I feel stronger, more energized, sleeping better... but! Expect to poop less often 💩

The way of the Steak

I did carnivore for a while. The lack of variety is the hardest part. Dr. Shawn Baker is an absolute beast when it comes to knowledge on this topic. #1 resource in my opinion.

Twetch ·

@102 yeah, you need fibre (from plant foods) to feed the good bacteria in your colon... and to poop :P

It was good encouragement for me to eat truck loads of (low carb) veges and drown it in extra virgin olive oil. Loads of fat and veges needed to fill the belly and pad out calorie requirements... It all begins to taste amazing after the carb cravings go...

Twetch ·

I think many gravitate to keto diets because ketosis is anti-inflammatory and many are suffering obvious or subtle auto-immune problems. That it helps auto-immune sufferers and epileptics doesn't necessarily make it a healthy long-term diet, though...

Twetch ·

@1118 I just think my body just produces less waste. I don't have issues going to the WC, I just go less often when eating meat.

Twetch ·

Totally agree! look what happened to me after eating vegan for 8 years

There are a lot of antioxidants in meat. Heart is the most rich source of Q10 f.e. On the contrary vegetables and fruits can cause allergic reactions, which is pretty much non existent with cow or chicken meat.
