One of my most favorite tools.
Offline viewing and listening for people who use airplane mode a lot.

I recommend installing the appimage.
Put the appimage file in a folder and create a keyboard shortcut where you put in the path to the appimage.
Like /home/user/appimages/YTDownloader_Linux.AppImage

Quite convenient, especially when you are having several other appimages in a folder.


And for those who are on android:
Check out the app "newpipe".
Alternative youtube frontend which lets you download youtube videos either as videos or as audio files.
Sadly not in mp3 format.
I use the newpipe-folder inside my audio-anchor-podcast folder, so I can download youtubevideos as podcasts and listen to them offline via audioanchor.
Newpipe supports audio when the display is off.
You can export your subscriptions and playlists.
