Not a fan of ledger for several reasons, but it makes sense to do the signing on a separate chip/device.
Not necessarily for every scenario, sure.
Google pixel phones i.e. have a separate security chip inside. Not sure though if they could be used for signing utxos.

I’m an all BSV person now, the days of ledger are gone! (Except maybe a few stragglers from back in the day)
managing digital assets is a big deal, however you do it!
