Genesis about creation of man? or creation of man as the beginning?

Twetch ·

Genesis 1:26 Male and Female humans were created simultaneously by the Elohim.

Genesis 2:7 Yahweh formed Adam from the wet dust and gave him the neshemah.

2 different "men" we're "created"

Twetch ·

Now that u mention it, it seems like genesis 1 and 2 have contradiction. Genesis 1 male and female are created simultaneously while Genesis 2 male first.

2 different "men" we're "created"? Im confused

Twetch ·

Genesis 1:26 is not Adam.
They are the offspring of many Gods.

Genesis 2:7 is Adam.
He is the offspring of יהוה.
Google the difference between The Lord God and God.
Elohim vs Yahweh.

Some articles also said: in bible, God, Lord God, all refers to same one entity, the words variety is just to point different personalities of the same entity. Lord God is used when in affectionate mode with man, while God is the poker face/neutral mode.

Twetch ·

Here's what i got from Quora discussion and your previous twetch:

Lord God = Yahweh. Lord also mean Master, because He is the creator of Adam?
Elohim is a collection of Gods, including Yahweh?

Now try reading the two verses with a Lexicon.

Search:
Gen _:_ Lexicon

When you find any special words that pop out, check the Hebrew definition.

What is the "breath of life?"

Twetch ·

This searching format "Gen _:_ Lexicon" is really super handy. Thank you for sharing it. It really makes it easier for me to learn Hebrew language. And in Genesis 1 it really said Elohim, while on Genesis 2 it's Yahweh. Lexington helps to compare things

To breath = nasham (to pant)
Life = chayah (to life).

I assume, so the breath of life in Hebrew also means: panting/gasping to life in english.

I feel like i found an entrance to a rabbit hole, a new WHOLE way to look/read bible. I always had vague feeling bible is a lot more than simple child-reading story like priests suggested. Have been to different churches but none discusses bible like this.

Twetch ·

I find most churches to be useless at this point....

Twetch ·

hi Ray, can i ask u some questions again? every time i read Bible there's always questions arises, though i prefer to think it on my own first for some times. for now there are some questions i would ask, can i?

Twetch ·

Ask away! I love logical explanation as well as cognitive ambiguity!

First about the term Son of Man in the Gospel. In english, when Jesus refering to himself as Son of Man, it always used upper case in. Perhaps to emphasize the difference between the normal son of man? But does Hebrew have upper case like the alphabet?

Twetch ·

I also wonder how Hebrew emphasize Son of Man and son of man.

In Genesis 11:1-9 about people that created tall tower, then is it refering to people of Adam that have breath of life or offspring of many Gods?
