You can pay me to tell me how much you dislike me anytime any day ...
Criticism makes me stronger and shows what areas need some touch up...
Other than that..
Haters gna hate regardless!
I like it. I like ability to set price - or at least A/B testing of it to see how it goes - BUT it seems like variable price should NOT affect value of either up or down vote in terms of ranking. Although that could be interesting to test as well.
Yeah! The rabbit hole is endless! 😆
We have never had the opportunity for a "negative" interaction on social media like a downvote etc. It would be a unique experience. This platform supports critical thought so it would be a logical next step.
Downvote sounds like Reddit.
Dislike sets up the possibility to state an opinion without having to comment. It opens up for more discussion too. The sellers always set the price. How about we try letting the buyer decide its value ay.
I imagine likes and dislikes being multi-dimensional. There are many information quality metrics that are not necessarily correlated. Ever watch a video and dislike the news presented? Videos get downvoted for this even when people appreciate the curator.
I'd like to see what happens when people have an opportunity to rate relevance, humor, accuracy, curation, etc. Readers could even reference a source, a copyright, etc.
Downvoting and dislike is silly. If you care enough to be against something, just voice your opinion. Choose your own tip value would be great. Should be a minimum though. Ability to see that something is a reply in the feed.
Most of this would be hidden from UI by default, but the options would exist somewhere if we care about classifying things accurately. It's also important for there to be a cost to these attestations (R-Puzzle miner bounty type system of the future)
Maybe a voluntary addon, like the twetch to twitter. Pay $1 to activate and get your users to nuke your posts. Earn on being provocative, challenge ideas. People who put on the Dislike for their posts will realize soon enough if their ideas lack substance.
If there's a downvote, there should be a mandatory input field for WHY. This forces constructive criticisms. It also then shows the stupidity of some who just want to say "because" 🤦♂️
