I don't like most "blocking feature" implementations.
An anti-spam feature which restricts the actions to one post a day or some other interval would be better.
As it is right now, you can moderate away a lot of counter narratives and keep ur ingroup in an echo chamber.
Not good in my opinion.

It makes you a pussy, no tbeing able to endure any criticism ever.

The author of the title message (first message) of any thread can archive any other message in that thread... so every author has a lot of power to moderate the branch they created

Good to know, thanks.
Wasn't meant for treechat in particular, just got my first block on X a few days ago and realized that people with a lot of reach can get rid of most critics and therefore can fasten their already strong position.
It seems to me, that in some way it nourishes division.

Two edged sword.

it's a balance between the free flow of information and the ability to control ones environment... maybe there should be a fee to block... or the troll toll idea from twetch

I think an interval would be a good idea.

I think an interval would be a good idea.
In combination with a flag, that the post is from a blocked person, which makes it kinda interesting.
For me personally a "flagged blocked post" would trigger my attention due to the curiousity if it was blocked on purpose or not.
I then would read the post.
If it is just ad hominens I would ignore it and maybe me and other people could even add our vote to an even longer "blocking interval".
But if it is quality post it would draw some attention and you couldn't get rid of unpopular opinions that easily.
