I don’t finance things. I pay for them all at once or I don’t buy them at all.

I hate debt. I’ve never had any debt and I work hard to make sure that me and mine will never have to take on debt in the future.

I can’t imagine ever buying a new car again, especially for a daily driver. Used all the way.

New car is worth 20% less the minute you drive it out of the salon.

Same, I buy or I can't buy.
With us boys, it usually starts with a car.
Taking a credit to buy a car, suppose one wants to own it, rekts many young guys.

Exactly

In the US, people receive practically no interest for savings accounts. Giving the banks all the upside, while they loan out people's savings. On top of that, inflation.

I refuse to give them more of my money through debt.

Twetch ·

debt is a modern version of slavery

Twetch ·

@1711

Inflation + 0% interest on savings accounts + income tax=

They own your money, they own you.

Twetch ·

@131 yep it's as simple as that.

Twetch ·

we are born in debt.

Twetch ·

I wasn’t and neither were any of mine.

Can confirm. This is something I was well aware of prior to purchasing my new car. I did it anyways because I needed something material to make me feel happy. I'd be happy w/o it, I didn't need it and carry 3 years of debt to burden myself with as a result

Debt itself isn’t bad. You can have good debt as well bad debt.

Sure piece of mind is great, but debt can be utilised successfully by smarter individuals.

For example if I have a buy-to-let mortgage and making a profit, the debt I have isn’t bad debt.
